The College of Business and Management Studies is one of the five founding colleges of Igbinedion University, Okada which took off in the 1999/2000 academic session after the university was established in 1999. The College is headed by a Dean, who is appointed by the Vice-Chancellor normally from among the senior academic staff members of the College.

The primary objective of the College is to produce graduates that are both
academically sound, professionally proficient, and fit for the world of work,
who will be able to contribute their own quota to the advancement of industry
and the economic development of the society. From its inception to-date, the
College is regarded as the pivotal college in the University because it has the
responsibility to translate into concrete terms and reality the avowed
objective of Igbinedion University, Okada, which is to produce university
graduates that will be self-disciplined, sufficiently creative, innovative, and
fit for the world of work, entrepreneurially and mentally resourceful to be
self-employed, if necessary, and thereby create jobs rather than be looking for
jobs.

The College of Business and Management Studies presently has three academic
departments, namely

  1. The Department of Accounting
  2. The Department of Banking and Finance
  3. The Department of Business Administration

The available undergraduate programmes in the College are:

  1. B.Sc. (Accounting),
  2. B.Sc. (Banking and Finance),
  3. B.Sc. (Business Administration), majoring is Marketing, or Management.

Programmes to come on board in the immediate future include:

  1. B.Sc. (Marketing),
  2. B.Sc. (Management),
  3. B.Sc. (Management Information System), and
  4. B.Sc. (Actuarial Science).

The population of undergraduate students in the College has grown from 23 students
in October 1999 to 200 as of September 2018.

All the Department in the College have full NUC Accreditation.
